Buyer Protection

Your money is safe until you say so.

How it works

  • You pay — the money goes into escrow, not to the seller.
  • The seller ships and marks the order as sent.
  • You have 8 hours after delivery to confirm or report a problem. Then the seller is paid.

Your 8 hours

You have 8 hours after you receive your order (when your delivery PIN is entered at handover) to confirm or report a problem; after that the payment is released to the seller.

Check the item before you give the code, and again inside those 8 hours. Report anything wrong from the order before they run out.

If the seller never records the handover, the payment is released five days after they sent the order, unless you have reported a problem.

What is covered

The item never arrived — the seller did not ship, or it was not delivered.

Not as described, or fake — wrong item, wrong size, different condition, or a counterfeit of a branded product.

Damaged in delivery — the item arrived broken or unusable.

Missing parts — accessories, pieces or quantities shown in the listing or the show are missing.

What is not covered

Paying outside Glimr. Bank transfers or cash paid directly to a seller have no protection at all.

Changing your mind. If the item is as described, returns are up to the seller’s own policy.

Problems reported after the 8 hours have passed, once the money has been released.

Prohibited items, which should not have been listed in the first place.

If something goes wrong

Report the problem from the order. The money stays in escrow while the case is open.

The seller has 48 hours to respond. They can offer a refund, a replacement or an exchange.

If you cannot agree, our team reviews the evidence and decides within 3 days.

Return delivery is paid by the seller when the item is at fault.

A refund returns the item price and any delivery fee to where you paid from: your bank account, or your Glimr balance if you paid with it. The buyer protection fee is not refunded.

A decision on escrowed money is final. It does not affect your rights under Nigerian consumer law.

Staying protected

Never pay a seller by direct transfer, even if they offer a discount for it.

Keep conversations in Glimr so we can see them if there is a dispute.

Film yourself opening high-value items. It makes your case stronger.

Do not tap Confirm delivery until you have checked the item.
